Stop the presses.  I wrote the job order below incorrectly; actually I just didn’t stress the technical requirement.


 


YOU MUST HAVE A TECHNICAL BACKGROUND TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS JOB.  The client defines this as either the degree in chemistry, chem engineering,k etc. or demonstrated experience working in or with the technical or manufacturing department of a pharma manufacturer.


 


In short, you MUST have BOTH technical AND sales experience to be considered for this job.  As noted in the job description below, you must write a cover letter, but if your technical experience is not obvious from the resume you MUST wrote a strong cover letter detailing the experience.


 


I received many great sales resumes, but they have all been rejected for lack of the chemistry-related degree or technical experience.

My client is looking for a Pharmaceutical Technical Sales Senior Project Coordinator.  The client does not sell the drugs, but manufactures and sells the delivery systems and inert ingredients such as gels, powders, coating, etc. 


 


 


 


The Target Market is the Pharmeceutical MANUFACTURING market.  If you have sold to these manufacturers, you are a prime candidate for this job.    Please note that this job will target  manufacturers, NOT doctors, pharmacies or drug distributors. 


 


 


 


To be considered you need to have one or more of these sales experience sets:


 


 


 





  • 3+ years of outside technical sales to the Target Market



  • 3-7 years in B2B selling to the Pharmaceutical Industry



  • 5-10 years in B2B outside technical sales.




 


Note that you must have sales experience, not just sales support experience. 


 


 


 


In addition, we are looking for:


 


 


 





  • Demonstrated knowledge of Pharma and Nutra markets.



  • Knowledge of formulation.



  • Experience with direct territory sales, key account management.



  • Negotiation skills.



  • INDUSTRY CONTACTS.




 


 


 


In this job you will travel as much as 50% of the time.  You will be required to be based in the Chicago area.


 


 


 


Responsibilities include:


 


 


 





  • Be the liaison between customers and the company Sales, Marketing, Application, and Manufacturing teams.



  • Identify opportunities for new products or strategies.



  • Develop solutions to customer’s problems.



  • Provide customers and the sales team with clear and easily understandable information about the company’s products.



  • Communicate within all levels of the company and within a customer’s organization.



  • Negotiate, bid, and follow up on potential customer business.



  • Develop educational and training programs for the customer.



  • Develop and deliver public presentations to build industry excitement for the company’s products.



  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and some administrative duties.




 


 


 


Educational requirements:


 


 


 


The ideal candidate will have a Masters Degree in Pharmaceutical Technology, chemistry, chemical engineering or a related field. 


 


 


 


The company MAY consider a candidate with a Bachelors degree if you have over 10 years in the Pharmaceutical industry.

Note once more that this job requires specific, current, experience in B2B sales to Pharmaceutical MANUFACTURERS.
